In 2020 I took part in a collaborative project with We Make Good. We Make good is Social Enterprise is business with a heart - greater employment through social businesses means a fairer, more inclusive society. We Make Good was born out of the desire to grow the social enterprise sector in our country, to create many more job opportunities for people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The brief for this project was to repurpose expired firehose. Firehose has a short life span and even more short with regular use. This leaves the Dublin fire brigade with an excise amount of unusable firehose. We had three weeks to assess the firehose and come up with a design to give the firehose a new life as an everyday product.

My partner Sarah Norgrove and I designed an outdoor sports bag, this sports bag would mostly be made up of the repurposed firehose, the firehose's strong rubber design gives it the strength to be water-resistant and the material gives it a strong profile perfect for hiking and other outdoor activities.
